Twelve World Teachers was written in 1973 by Manly P. Hall. The book describes a dozen great teachers from the history of mankind who bore witness to universal knowledge through word and example.
 In twelve chapters, the following persons are discussed: Akhenaten, Hermes Trismegistus, Orpheus, Zarathustra, Buddha, Confucius, Lao-Tse, Plato, Jesus, Muhammad, Padmasambhava, and Quetzalcoatl.
 Each chapter consists of a biography of the respective world teacher, followed by an exposition of his philosophy.
